Centro Nacional del Hidrógeno (CNH2) plays a crucial role in the development of innovative hydrogen-based solutions, supporting applied research, knowledge transfer and innovation across the whole hydrogen value chain.
Since its creation in 2007, CNH2 has contributed to challenges related to decarbonisation, energy security, sustainable mobility, industrial transformation and the transition towards a climate-neutral economy. This is reflected in projects that include demonstration of hydrogen in stationary and mobility applications such as railway, aviation, maritime, road transport, logistics, microgrids, and advanced processes for more efficient production of hydrogen and other key vectors, contributing to their deployment for the energy transition.
Centro Nacional del Hidrógeno is a public research centre funded jointly by the Spanish Government and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha (50%-50%). It brings together multidisciplinary teams and state-of-the-art laboratories, pilot plants and large scale infrastructure for the demonstration of prototypes at high TRLs.
- Role in ELEKTRA project
CNH2 brings to ELEKTRA its expertise in systems testing and validation, having experience with similar prototypes through their participation in the ARENHA and APOLO projects.
CNH2 participates in the safety studies for the design of the ammonia-cracking prototype (WP4), and carries out its demonstration through testing and results analysis in an industrial site (WP5).
