ELEKTRA project at MAKERS DAY

On 12 and 13 September 2026, ELEKTRA participated in Maker Days Eindhoven through the TEENTECH2 programme, coordinated by 1CUBE.

Together with four other EU-funded projects โ€” AMBHER, ANDREAH, APOLO and MemCat โ€” ELEKTRA took part in the festival at the Klokgebouw in Strijp-S, where innovation, creativity and technology came together. The 2026 edition welcomed more than 10,000 visitors.

ELEKTRA is working on solutions for the electrification of industry, exploring technologies that can help industry reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and move towards more sustainable energy systems.

At Maker Days, the project became part of a much broader conversation about technology and the future.

Rather than focusing only on technical details, the TEENTECH2 stand, organised and coordinated by 1CUBE, offered visitors an opportunity to discover the ideas behind European research through interactive activities and informal conversations.

Younger visitors could test their knowledge with the Hydrogen Quiz, play the Hydrogen Memory Game, complete a Hydrogen Word Search or get creative with colouring sheets.

These activities provided a simple starting point for conversations about hydrogen, electrification, clean energy and the technologies being developed across Europe.

Maker Days brings innovation and technology closer to the public, with more than 80 maker projects presented during the 2026 edition.

For ELEKTRA, participating in an event like this was an opportunity to step outside the usual research and industry environment and meet people who may not normally come into contact with EU research projects.

It also reflects an important part of ELEKTRA’s communication approach: making complex technological developments understandable, relevant and engaging for different audiences.

By taking research into public spaces, projects can create new conversations around the challenges and opportunities of the industrial transition โ€” and encourage curiosity about the technologies that will shape the future.
